Inish Beg is licenced to hold civil ceremonies at The Boat House and does so provided the wedding party is booking all the accommodation available for a minimum stay of two nights (excluding Bank Holidays when a three night stay is required). Inish Beg is available for weddings at any time of the year except during July and August. As the wedding party is booking all of the accommodation the wedding guests will have exclusive use of all facilities on the estate.

A civil ceremony can be conducted at The Boat House, in which case dates for the ceremony need to be agreed with the Registrar in Cork.

The Boat House, Walled Garden, Main House and landscaped gardens provide the perfect location for wedding photography.

Receptions of up to 60 guests can be held in The Boat House. For larger numbers, the reception can take place in a marquee in a specially designated waterfront setting on the estate. In this case, there is an additional fee.

The wedding party usually includes everyone participating in some way in the wedding celebration. That could be groomsmen, brides maids, flower girls, clergy, both sets of parents, etc. They’re the people who are helping to bring the big day together. Many people decide to take the group out to a nice restaurant as the wedding gift to the bridal party, but there are other things you can do as well. Of course, the bigger the wedding party, the harder it’s going to be to come up with unique wedding party gifts. Rather than give each individual person something different as a wedding gift, why not give gifts based on gender and/or age.

Women: The ladies can each get the same gift, just make sure to personalize the gift that you give. You might want to give them each a personalized ladies shaver, gift certificates to their favorite book shop or coffee shop, personalized cameras, sheets, or something simpler and alternative like a personalized mp3 player.

Men: Gifts for the wedding party should be something you know they’ll enjoy. Maybe it’s a bottle of whiskey, or a pass to a racing event, rugby or soccer. Maybe there’s a concert coming up that they’ll all appreciate having tickets to.

Children: If you have a flower girl, page boy/ring bearer in the wedding party, don’t forget them! Unique wedding party gifts for them might be something that will keep them entertained during the day.

- If you decide not to invite children be prepared for some guests to decline your invitation.
- If you do invite children you can’t stress about noise during the ceremony. In fact you’ll be amazed how any racket will be soaked up by the room. You will be so absorbed in what is going on at the front you probably won’t even notice anyway.
- Get children involved with the wedding and give them jobs. Children love confetti… (if allowed at your church or venue!)
- If you aren’t getting married at a venue with accommodation, it may mean that those with children have to slope off before the end of the night.
- Some guests prefer to have a weekend away from their children!
- If the bride and groom have children of their own, they are more likely to invite other people’s children to their wedding, but they should never feel obliged.
- Why not organise someone to care for the kids during the important bits?

Ordering Wedding Stationery
When you’re planning a wedding, there are a lot of decisions to be made. Among those decisions will be the location, the date, and the type of service, who will be in the bridal party and who is to be invited to the wedding. Most couples struggle when it comes to deciding how many people to invite, but it is extremely typical to send an invitation to a guest you know will not be able to come to the wedding. If you order your wedding invitations to be printed, your printer will often require a minimum number of invitations to place the order to begin with. So you should always order more wedding invitations and envelopes than number of guests you are planning to invite. There are multiple reasons for doing this, but the best reason is that it’s always better to have a few extra invitations on hand than to come up short.

Wedding invitations – reflect the couple not the wedding!
The definition of unique is that it is not common nor like another. In and of themselves, wedding invitations are unique because they are individual to the couple issuing the invitations. But in general, when we’re thinking unique wedding invitations, we’re thinking about wedding invitations that are different and that stand out from what is the norm. So, what would make your wedding invitations unique with regard to your wedding?
Unique wedding invitations may or may not include your wedding theme whether it’s an under the sea wedding, a Disney wedding or other venue wedding
Unique wedding invitations may have altered wording, sending the invitation directly from the bride and groom rather than their parents.
Unique wedding invitations may be used for second marriages or senior weddings or even the blending of two families.
For a couple electing to marry in the later years of their life after their children have grown and perhaps their previous spouses have died, their wedding invitations may be the most unique of all. Are they inviting the guests, are their children inviting the guests or are they simply sending an invitation to guests to share with them the sunset cruise they are embarking on together. The definition of unique is that it is personalized to the couple that is choosing to issue the invitation. Don’t be bound by tradition if you don’t want to be.

The Etiquette of Wedding Stationery
Wedding invitation etiquette requires that the invitation be worded as an invitation from the bride’s parents to the wedding of their daughter, her full name to the name of the groom, the son of the groom’s parents name to be held at a certain time on a certain day.
“Your RSVP is graciously requested and the envelope has been enclosed.”
Wedding invitation etiquette suggests that you include a pre-paid postage stamped envelope with the RSVP card in order to facilitate the return of the invitations in a timely manner.
